Quick And Easy Home Made Games
You never know when you’ll need some
games handy. It could be taken along on a long trip, pulled out on a
rainy day when everybody’s stuck indoors, or used simply for a change
from the usual board games. Most folks ignore the need for a backup
activity, especially since many games are available online, some with
downloadable equipment like
free bingo cards, and others that allow you to play with virtual
opponents.
Home made games can be improvised every
time with some new and interesting twist to keep players engrossed for
hours. Some basic equipment is more than sufficient to devise a variety
of games with minimal fuss. Collect a few clean ice cream cups of the
same size and team them up with a ping pong ball. Use this to challenge
players to toss the ball from behind a line into the cups which will be
moved further away with each round. To make it more challenging, split
into teams and award a letter to each accurate throw. The first team to
round up all the letters and forms the magic word wins the game.
Use posters
and landscapes pasted on cardboard to make your own jigsaw puzzles. Make
a pallet by placing Popsicle sticks together, and paint a picture on it.
Split up the sticks when dry and jumble it to make a puzzle for kids.
Tightly rolled up newspapers sealed with tape make very good bats and
can be used for a harmless game of indoor baseball with a ping pong
ball. Crosswords can also be made on simple grids with the names of
family and pets for answers.
Start with a
few of these simple games and watch your family get creative with every
passing family night.
